App to monitor plantation “Harit Path” by Nitin Gadkari
Nitin Gadkari (the Union Minister for road transport and highways) has launches a new mobile app called ‘Harit Path’ which will monitor plantation along national highways.
Under this initiative, the NHAI will going to plant over 25 lakh plants in 25 days along the stretches of the national highways between July 21 and August 15, 2020.
Keypoints to remember:-
1. The purpose of these app is to monitor the plantations through geo-tagging & web-based GIS-enabled monitoring tools.
2. These is a GPS-based app that has been developed by National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), this is a Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) under the Ministry of Road and Transport.
3. The aim of these app is to monitor location, growth, species details, maintenance activities, targets and achievements of each of its field units for each and every plant under all plantation projects.
